Once again, parents of toddlers need to crawl back under the covers in fear.
Okay, perhaps I'm being melodramatic.
But there has been yet another recall affecting our little angels.
This time, it's those adorable buggies we drive them up and down the street in. The maker of the toy, Step-2 Toy, has recalled 2.5 million of these buggies. The buggies recalled were the "Push Around Buggy" and the "Whisper Ride Buggy."
The buggies affected were sold in stores between August 1999 and March 2010. The alleged problem with the buggies is that the handles can potentially detach from the toy and as a result, cause injury to the child inside.
It is reported that two children were seriously hurt by the alleged flaw in the buggy. 26 other children have been injured, mainly with minor scratches.
I stopped keeping track of product recalls affecting toddlers in the past two weeks. First, we had the crib recall. Then, we had the massive child medication recall affecting the Tylenol brand.
Of course, let's not ignore the friendship bracelet recall. Although this recall might not affect most toddlers, it's still a recall that affects little girls.
Nevertheless, all recalls are an area of concern to Pa personal injury lawyers. Pa personal injury lawyers can often bring lawsuit based on injuries suffered as a result of a defect in a product.
While this is not always the case, a serious injury can lead to large damages if the elements of a good personal injury lawsuit are present.
If you, or anyone you know, have been injured by a toy, contact a Pa personal injury lawyer and see if you have a case. Browse through our directory to locate a Pennsylvania personal injury attorney offering free consultations.
